5 SUVs with Big Changes Coming in 2016

An SUV, or sport utility vehicle, is a popular choice among drivers because it is larger and more powerful than a typical car, but it still maintains the elegance and sophistication of a smaller vehicle. SUVs are being revamped across the board to make them roomier, more fuel efficient, and as technologically advanced as possible. Here are five SUVs that you can expect the biggest changes from in 2016.

1. Cadillac SRX

Cadillac is making some serious changes to one of its most popular SUVs in the upcoming year. One of the most anticipated modifications is the updated interior, which will provide passengers with significantly more head and legroom than previous models. Another addition is up-to-date technology, including keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, and a premium audio system. The exterior will also be revamped to be bolder with chrome details and an angular front end, and you can score the base model SRX for $38,000.

2. Nissan Armada

The makers of the Armada wanted to give this SUV the perfect mix of classy and sporty in the new model, and they definitely achieved that goal with their upgrades. They’ve added cabin space, so now a whopping eight passengers can comfortably fit in this vehicle and enjoy an all-new Bose sound system and a large touchscreen on the dash. The fuel economy of the Armada has also been improved because the vehicle is made of lightweight metals, bringing the MPG up to 13 city and 19 highway. The price of this vehicle will start at around $39,000.

3. Toyota Highlander

The Highlander, starting at around $30,000, has been updated to provide passengers with a very comfortable, stylish SUV. The interior has been redesigned to provide heated, ventilated, and electrically adjusted seats for all five passengers, and it will also feature a three-zoned air conditioner for maximum comfort. Additionally, the Highlander will also have a whopping 8.1 inch touchscreen display, so the passengers can enjoy many entertainment features, such as music and movies, along with an advanced navigation system.

4. Volvo XC60

The new XC60, starting at $36,000, has been updated to be more modern and minimalist to appeal to luxury car buyers. The new cabin is very spacious in order to provide passengers with the maximum amount of comfort, and the dash has been simplified for both aesthetic reasons and to make the controls easier for the driver to operate. New features include: rain-sensing windshield wipers and lights, a custom rear-seat entertainment system, autonomous climate control, and tunnel-detecting headlights.

5. Kia Sportage

The Sportage is a steal at only $22,000, and you will not miss out on anything that the high-end SUVs have to offer. The new model will have two engine options, both of which result in significantly better fuel economy (21 city, 28 highway MPG). The interior of the Sportage only has minimal changes, one of the only notable ones being an optional glass privacy partition between the front and back row. Yet, the exterior has been redesigned for both safety and to showcase a sporty design, including chrome-framed windows and chrome tips on the exhaust.
