What is an IPO Calendar?

An initial public offering (IPO) is when a company goes public to expand its business by putting its shares on the stock market, but how are you supposed to know when a company is ready to take this major step? IPO calendars are designed to let potential shareholders know which corporations are offering their shares to the public. IPO calendars usually tell you the company name, price per share, how many shares are available, the exchange, and financial data.

Various sites are available to help you keep track of IPOs that are currently open and will open in the near future. One such site is MarketWatch, which makes it easy for you to browse IPOs that are beginning this week and next week. Another great option is Nasdaq’s website, where you can find latest, recently filed, and withdrawn IPOs to keep an eye on potential portfolio opportunities. The benefit of using Nasdaq is the extra information such as lockup period, quiet period expiration, and company description.
